vz navigator bluetooth

I have an LG VX 9800 with a motorola H500 bluetooth. Recently I downloaded VZ Navigator into the phone. The Navigator works fine, but the directions only come through the speakerphone, they will not transmit through the bluetooth headset. Does anyone know if it is supposed to or not? If so, can you direct me as to how to resolve the issue. I've gone to our local Verizon store and tech support here hasn't been overly helpful as of yet.
