Lovatts crosswords

I am working on Lovatts BIG crossword. the DEMON
45a.. pitch side on to waves. I have -R-A-H. I can only find BROACH or
BREACH and according to the dictionary, neither of them really fit the clue. Anyone got any ideas please?

Also BIG crossword. 45d Fan shaped shell. I have SCALLOP or SCOLLOP. They both fit the clue but Christine will want only one of them.
Does anyone know which it is????????

Your answer of 'broach is correct", I have defined it on an earlier post.

The other answer is "scallop" but it can also be written as "scollop", both answers are correct and I'm sure Christine will accept either.

I have trouble finding peoples questions on this site. I try to look for them first in case my question has been asked. So I missed that answer too.
However I did find the RASHI, ROSHI, RUSHI question. Have to go off and have a think now.
