What is your opinion of the internet as it exists today? Are the days of the wild west over? Has it overcome some of the early broad-based criticism of being an unreliable source of information?
Are you satisfied with its evolution to date? Do any of its new manifestations--such as YouTube--amaze or excite you?
How has it disappointed you? What is it missing?
I like the internet despite all the trash we can see in it. The positives far outweigh the negatives many times over. To me, it is very useful as a library. With the Internet also, I am able to connect with anyone in the world which was not possible before. As a freelance writer also, I am able to do my research better than when I have to depend only on libraries. More than all of these, I am able to mind-alliance with intellectuals many of whom I would like to learn from.
The internet is in it's earliest possible state.
Your question is really more like asking a two day old zygote what it thinks of the latest developments in cryptology.
I use it as communication, a research tool, entertainment, relaxation, to satisfy my own curiosity, to help other people (hopefully) and for work. There are a million million other things I use it for too.
Plus, it's done wonders for the pornography industry!
Ummm... Or so I'm told.
