A long time ago, I used to imagine putting on the "whole armour" in the morning...
Since it is not a battle against flesh and blood (that war been won), it is instead of a battlefield, it is an arena or gymnasium "in the mind", where we wrestle, run, throw javelins and compete. etc... We clothe ourselves with the equipment, gear of God. We toughen our commitments (loins) and believe with the faith (heart) of God and act (feet) according to the word of God. It is a sport where we wrestle with the spiritual matters of the will. It is an inner human within the mind in an athletic spiritual competition. Fit and ready to win.
