The one I am stuck on is Knights' devices--I have AR-S. ARMS seems pretty logical but seems to 'modern' an answer if that makes sense!

ARMS doesn't sound right but it is what I came up with too.
How can ARMS be a devise?

Re the knight's devices, one of the meanings of devices is 'heraldry' and similarly, one of the meanings of arms is 'heraldry' - as in a knight's coat of arms.
