Hello,
a few years ago, I got the idea of building big pipes parallel to al the rivers to generate energy and to avoid floods.
When there are normal conditions, this pipes are regulated and let only pas a certain quantity of water to generate electricity, like every usual dam does.
When there is flood, the pipe will be opened and the water will get trough the pipe with very high speed, dependent on the difference in height , which bridges the pipe.
This pipes can replace large dams, without those problems, which dams normally are causing.
The new big dam in China could have been simulated only by one big pipe , with four meters of diameters and the lengthens of the future artificial lake, which is 600km.
If one shifts this pipe from the sea level into the mountains, one can win a multiple at energy, as with a normal dam.
What do you think of this idea?

Good idea.
You pay for it.

I would, if I could.
There is no better investment with more net yield.
In any case it's an academic argument as I have just patented the idea and am now in negotiations with 4 oil companies, Matsushita and several governments who all want to bestow money upon me in exchange for this idea disappearing from view forever.
I am soon to be incontinently wealthy.
Splendid.
Well, Heliotrope, that's just a dirty trick.
My newly hired and amazingly expensive spin doctors and PR people will take care of any negative image connotations.
Then, using my astonishingly effective legal team, I can sue whoever has libelled me by suggesting that I engage in dirty tricks.
Any takers ?
Hello Mr. Drummer,
