Hi.
One of my neighbors, who abandoned her community garden plot, has what looks like an artichoke plant with artichokes on it.
But another gardener says it's not an artichoke plant, but maybe related to artichokes.
What can it be? And, is it edible?
Thanks.
Hi, Drewdad.
Um, I don't have a camera.
But the leaves are a silvery green and have some points on them.
The other gardner took me to a "real" artichoke plant, and to me they looked exactly the same.
He said the leaves on my neighbors were "stiffer," I believe, but I swear, to me the plants look identical.
And so does the fruit.
Another variety of artichoke, with silvery green leaves, "Vert de Laon"...
Thanks.
I found some other pictures of it and a description that says it's spikier and hardier than the other artichokes but still with a good flavor.
The picture do look like the plant.
Thanks for your help.
