...I would advertise here!

After all, they know everything, they give advice, they help you out in a crisis, they have VGSOH, empathetic, sympathetic, tell you the best hotels...

Most are aware of my newly single status, so here goes (in the lingo)

Classic Car, not many previous owners, miles on the clock, but has been serviced regularly and has a well maintained engine. Chassis good, plenty of tread on the tyres, missing a dip-stick and may need a good tune up...

Very Happy

I love it.

New(er) car. Shocks are worn, frame tends to sag, needs body work. Never driven. Occasional backfires. Needs a good home and lots of TLC. Bargain priced, must go!

smorgs - You found your spark. Very Happy

Not single, but if I were my advert might read something like:

Smooth ride. Classic model in good condition. One owner after numerous test drives. Low maintenance other than persistant knocking under the hood.

Wanted: a burly man who can drive a John Deere tractor and lift heavy stuff.

Must be creative and enjoy good conversation. Must either play an instrument or enjoy listening to music.

Pay is not much, but he will get room and board, as long as he can cook.

Well, no one can say you're being picky. This describes, I think, ALL MEN. Give or take a few under-a-rock types.

Oh, sorry Sarah. Man also must take things seriously and know how to do acronyms. Knowing archaeology would be a plus, especially if he knows the history of King Tut. Razz

Did I get it right that time?

Oh, you mean a car thing.

Body made in Canada with a French engine. Doesn't look like much, but a new paint job would make her like new.

Would that be knowing archaeology as in "went to school for it" or as in "enjoys it and occasionally has gone into the hills and valleys in the states he's visited to dig for them and discovered just how facinated he is with the whole concept"?

As in amateur, honey. I love finding artifacts. On the farm in Virginia, there are a ton of arrowheads made from quartz, and I once discovered a mortar and pestle made by the amerinds who roamed the hillocks.

This is the shortest relationship I've ever been in.
Also the first one I've been in in 10 years.
I have a hell of track record going.

I went into the hills a couple of miles away from a friend's farm in Wyoming, and we found a lot of sea floor fossils. Fossilized coral, sea shells, all sorts of amazing things. He told me he'd send them to me in the mail since I didn't want to take them home in my luggage. I never got them, and haven't heard from him since.
I do have a couple of small pieces of fossilzed coral I brought home with me, though.
It's amazing to just dig down and find these remenants of bygone years there, waiting to be discovered.

Sorry, Sarah, to get off track, honey.

Ah, the things that wash up on the beach where I live would amaze you, Arthur.

Now back to the dating game.
