Thanks for the confirmation on Home Depot bulbs, LW. All I've really bought there is the screw in flourescents. The last longer than other stores' incandescent bulbs, but that is pretty faint praise.
The compact fluorescents aren't that bad -- for some reason these Asian countries can successfully produce fluorescent lamps while incandescent and halogen elude them. Halide would be merely a joke and I don't know if they've even attempted that because I don't do large facilities like, for instance, a Cosco warehouse, but infrequently. It's not too creative -- you're just installing a large scale "task" lighting. The task is, of course, shopping in one of these behemoths.
