I Hate Fed Ex

So I sent my mother and my husbands mother flowers for Mothers Day. I had them delivered today so that they could enjoy them. The flowers are picked the day they are shipped so that they are nice and fresh. They are sent Fed Ex.

I have never had a problem with Fed Ex before. They've always been very good about delivering on time, not ruining packages, ect...however, now I am pissed.

Just on a whim this morning, I went online to check the staus of the flowers. They were both in transit to the local Fed Ex facility. I checked about an hour later and one was in "exception" with an incorrect address. So I immediately called to fix. They had changed the zip code but that zip code wasn't right so I checked the address again and it was missing the "South" when I had entered it. So I corrected it and the chick was like "oh yeah, we should be fine...we'll call you if there are any problems." I was feeling pretty good about it.

However, when I just called I was told that if not delivered by 4:30p (ie they couldn't find the address) that it would be delivered the following day. I explained that they were flowers and wouldn't make it overnight without water and what would they do about that. He said that my receipient could go to a Fed Ex location and pick them up or they'd be delivered the following day. Uh, idiot, they are FRESH flowers without water. I was dumb founded. My mil has to go pick up her own Mother's Day flowers?? I asked could they call if the location couldn't be found and he said that he wouldn't know if they hadn't been delivered until the driver got back from rounds. Which means that there would be no chance of correcting the address and the flowers would have to sit there overnight or have the recipient go get them, which is so tacky, imo. It isn't like she ordered something and wasn't home and now has to go get it.

I told him I was extremely disappointed and that I'd be calling back to see if they'd been delivered.

And this time I am going to ask for a super. I mean, am I being stupid with this or is Fed Ex really screwing me? I paid for delivery TODAY, not tomorrow and not for pick up. If there was a problem, they asked yes THEY ASKED me for my phone number and the nunber of the recipient, so...what was that for?

If those flowers don't get delivered, I am calling the florist and telling them that Fed Ex didn't deliver and I want new flowers sent. Who wants some crusty old flowers that have been sitting in a truck all day and then at the Fed Ex location? Evil or Very Mad Mad

You should never have relied on Fed Ex to deliver your clear vision of victory in Iraq.

Well, you entered the address wrong. And the guy's right...how are they going to know if they were delivered or not until the truck comes back? Every day they have tons of undelivered packages.

I just don't see what else they could do. They're not going to send a driver back out after his shift is over.

They probably start calling the phone numbers they've collected only after a handful of delivery attempts.

I called them to correct the address BEFORE the flowers were on the delivery truck.

I was told that I'd be called if things were right.

Not to mention, THEY changed the zip code to a wrong zip code. I had to call to change it back.

They can't contact their drivers? Whatever.

Don't tell me you're going to take care of me and then bend me over like a cheap whore.

to read about my own FedEx misadventure. Curiously, I've never had any problems with either UPS or USPS delivery.

Well, blacksmithin, I am jumpin on the boat with you if this doesnt get taken care of.

Yes, it is just flowers. But I paid good money for them. If they don't arrive pristine, I am calling the florist and telling them they'd better do something about it.

It's the complete lack of customer serivce that really grates me.

God, that's harsh. I thought I had it bad when they delivered my order to a different building (down the street) with the same apartment number as mine.
I assume you got the computer okay eventually?
Bella, good luck. Those customer service clowns are, if I may borrow a line from a movie, "as useless as hen sh!t on a pump handle." You have an uphill battle ahead of you.

Only when you ask.

They did screw up if they told you the address was going to be changed ok. Unfortunately when dealing with people who just answer the phones, who knows if they're actually going to do what's asked of them.
