Anybody recommend a good air filter?

Future Shop's website has a Sharp FP-N40CX model for sale. How am I supposed to know if it's any good or not? What am I supposed to be looking for in an air filter device such as that one? Thanks.

Consumer Reports has good info on air filters. I renew my membership to the online version every year, and it has saved me untold hours of indecision agony.
