Whnoa! When did that happen?

Must have happened shortly after May 2nd, I think.

It's a heck of a sight. I'm pleased that the stories of one egg being missing turned out to be wrong.

I'll be checking in on a regular basis now.

I was watching the Hornby Island eagles also. Unfortunately, neither egg ever hatched. There were some very sad moments. The eagles abandoned the nest on the 4th, if I recall correctly. If you go to the forum there, you can read more about it.

The nest you see now is in Vancouver. One of the forum members set up a camera for all the eagle watchers who were so disappointed about the Hornby Island events. The two eaglets had already hatched by the time the camera came online. It's interesting to watch them being fed, and the interaction between the adults and the eaglets.

Thanks for that info. I had no idea, as I've not looked at the forum. I was too pre-occupied with watching the eagles.

It's too bad about the H.I. nest. Let's hope all goes well with the new one.

Yes, "the penny drops"! Laughing

That's how I felt when I found out.

It seems that lately when I go to the webcam I only see the chicks, not the parents. I guess they're out hunting?

Yegads! 8:04pm Pacific Time. The nest looks empty, or is everybody out of sight of the camera? Shocked

Whew, I see the chicks are okay. I guess the camera only has a narrow viewpoint.

I see the 2 chicks appear to be a darker colour now. Not the lighter gray plummage that they had before.

The chicks are huddling next to one of the parents. Must be chilly tonight.

It seems like their feathers are continuing to darken, just like mom and dad.

You're welcome. This eagle webcam has been working pretty good since the second location was set up.

Fascinating to watch wildlife like this.

I've been watching them for about 20 minutes now and it's fascinating to watch. You can tell that mom truly loves her babies and it just makes me feel warm all over.

It started raining about 5 minutes ago and mom is sheltering her bundles of joy.

Awwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
