Music (for my husband)
I wanted something I couldn't have
A lilting sonata unfurling like
A ribbon of sweetness
From your fingers
Notes swelling and rising in the air
Chords glancing off the ceiling -
Trills spilling across the floor.
I wanted you to fill the room.
As always, aidan, beautifully said.....
You never cease touching the heart. I don't know how you do it, but you do it so well.
Are you still in England?
Hey Lady J. Long time, no see. Yes, still in England and will be for the foreseeable future, due to circumstances, but also because it's where I've come to love calling home.
Thank your for your kind words.
Thanks Sahki... The man that I married and who is the father of my children is and has been my best friend since I was l8 years old. He's a very kind person, in fact probably the kindest I've ever known. He's someone in my life who has a wonderfully calming and soothing effect on me - like music. I wanted to recognize that.
Gotta go to speed school now. I've gotten three tickets, since I've been here. They have those sneaky little cameras here that catch you when you least suspect it. So I have to go to speed school and learn how to obey the law, so I can keep driving.

This line in particular cut to my soul.
This poem is good. You capture tenderness and longing so well, Aidan.
