243d Gremlin (same as you)
317a Emcee My grid only has 5 letters so not sure if you have given the correct clue number.

I get Emcee from the following:

310d rEap (1st letter), (2nd letter no down clue intersects), 304d liCks(3rd letter), 293d vinE (4th letter), and finally 305d thEft (5th letter).

If you have given the wrong clue number come back later and I'll try again.

Thanks very much for your help Butterfly. I don't know where I got the 't' from, that's why I could not get 'vine' 293d. If I can help you wth anything in the future I will. I'm a great fan of the 'Daily Express' crosswords and occasionally do the 'Daily Mail'.
