Well, I've had lots of first dates that did not result in second dates. And lots of first dates that did not result in sex. It has been my experience that most first dates that do result in sex do not result in long-term relationships. Of course, one is not always looking for a long-term relationship; occasionally one is only looking to have a little fun for a few hours or so. And of course, there are exceptions.
However, my experience tells me that if one is looking to have lots and lots of sex over a long period of time with a particular person, one should usually wait until at least the second or third date. Usually.

Oh dear, did I just post something all serious and sensible on a digression thread?

Is someone going to spank me with a wet noodle or something? *ducking*

That's so cute, Cav! You're one of those exceptions that every rule must have.

How romantic.

Long ago and far away, I used to be a good Catholic girl and waited, well, I admit, I can barely remember it.

And then I didn't wait if I didn't want to not get involved, and some of those times I was sorry later, too much too soon, bad move, regret in the morning or sometime later, but... on the other hand,

some of those times ended up really well.

So now, miny yrs later, I cannot say, really. Why wait has a certain clang in my ear, less now, y'know, now that I am about a hundred, but still, clink, clink, clink.

I suppose that in the best of all worlds, people develop syncopes of desire and thistles of thirst and by the fourth date are overcome at just the right place and time wearing just the right clothes and neither person burps.
