Does the ramapithecus monkey have a genus name, or is "ramapithecus" the actual scientific name?
Ramapithecus is the scientific name for a particular representative of the prehomonid genus Sivapithecus, the species of which are termed the Miocene Apes, and which include ramapithecus, kenyapithecus, and ouranopithecus (progenitor of modern ourangutans). Of the Sivapithecus species, today the only extant descendent is the ourangutan; ramepithicus was not a human forebearer.

The genus Sivapithecus for which there are now three known fossil specie, turned out, to be nothing more than the ancestor to the modern Orangutan, or nothing less if you are an Orangutan I suppose.
