Hmmmm...I guess we will have to be doing a lot of killing and sending back here.

Blimey...we have white bikie gangs running drugs and such.....Chinese triad gangs....Vietnamese gangs.......used to have Greek and Italian gangs...we have Lebanese gangs......I mean, without readily available guns they don't murder anywhere near as much...but they will all have to go home.....oh wait, some have been here for multiple generations, this IS home....and the rest are perfectly legal immigrants....damn. Just have to kill 'em, I guess?

Oh...and we have Aboriginal gangs, too. THEM we can send home. They've only been here 50 to 70 thousand years.

So, who rewrote the history books?

Columbus sailed on Spanish ships, the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria. (You can still hear the shouts of "Eat our wake, Pintaheads", if you listen carefully off the shores of Palos.

Spain "discovered" the new world, not Italy (though the Vikings may have beat them by centuries).

Osso, I don't deny gangs and gang violence. I don't think gang violence should be overlooked or dealt with lightly. But, to base one's immigration policy on gang activies is ludicrous.

The Europeans spread over the Americas like a white plague. Either exterminating the natives or making them second class citizens. (Stigma which remains to this day in many places)

In my country, all of the native indians were killed by slave labor. To this day you can see some mixed people with some native blood but even that is rare. Nothing of their culture remains either but the names of places and animals.

Hawaii's native culture was warped beyond recognition and the native language was almost lost; a peaceful, tolerant society disfigured by foreign prejudices. In New Zealand, the Maori, the rightful owners of the land make only 13% of the population.

Australia. The aboriginals are marginalized and have few opportunities.

Then again, look at the US. Anyone know what percent of the population Native Americans make?

I'm guessing way less than 13%

They make tons of money, as they own all of the casinos outside of Vegas and Jersey.

They also have special exemptions when it comes to fish and wildlife.

The illegal part. Too many "legals" really aren't, IMO, because their parents cheated the system to allow them to be born here.

So...to attempt to make some sense from this strange gordian knot...(Osso, if you have any enlightenment to give, please do!):

a. Cj is pissed off because a kid who was involved in some sort of protest about an immigration law/possible immigration law let the American flag touch the ground.

b. Cj is pissed off about illegal immigration, but seems more pissed off at Mexican/Latin American illegal immigration than any other immigration.

c. Cj is upset because there is a Latino/a gang, which is big, and is saying that all mexicans or latins are criminals? And that this has something to do with illegal immigration? Apparently thereby ignoring that this Latino gang's desire to be bigger than other, ethnic group gangs suggests that a number of ethnic groups (from a guess, ALL of them) are fielding gangs in that area...but for some reason Cj is concentrating only one one ethnic group, and condemning all members of that ethnic group for it.

Is that the story so far?

Can you even see how this sounds? Can anything of what you just mentioned make up for all of pain? If you're ever ashamed of anything in your life, let these words be it. Do you have any idea how many native Americans died so you could have this country of yours? The foundations of this great nation are blood and bones, like many other countries. Do not, ever, try to make light of this.

I've sat here and read your posts trying to understand. Do you know how it feels like to not have enough food? To pray every day that you'll be have something to eat?

How typical of you to put your pathetic problems above everyone else's when there are people around the world that are starving right now, dying because they can't find work. Most of these immigrants come here to keep their families alive. Are the crimes of a few worth these lives?

You preach about the American people as if humans were different across the border. How blind can a person be? Borders mean nothing, you could raise walls on ever border and still the only thing that'd give them meaning are your stupid prejudices.

So there are gangs, find better ways to deal with them but don't take away the only hope for a better life these people have. I can only imagine what you'd do living in my country, how you'd survive. The only thing you've ever done to deserve your privileges in life is be born in a specific place. You've endured nothing compared to what others are going through right now.

It is sickening having to experience the way people like you think, your apathy. So people in Africa are dying because they don't have the basic conditions to subsist, so what, it's not like the US has the resources to help, right? So what if this country just spent billions on war, can you think of a better way to spend money than to kill? You talk about citizenship like it makes a difference. One cannot judge the worth of a person by a piece of paper.
