My son and I just got home. The roads are very bad here right now and my son ended up in a ditch on his way home from work. He was coming around a curve and when he turned his wheel to make the curve, the car just kept going strait and into the ditch he went.
He's ok other than being shaken up and I am so very thankful that he's ok.
I'm still shaking!

I am glad that the incident turned out ok. It is very discombobbulating when someone that you love was that close to a serious problem.

Montana, just try to relax. Spring is a coming!

Montana--

Were you also in the accident? Or just involved in the aftermath.

Not only is everyone hale and healthy, your son has learned the value of eternal vigilance.

Hold your dominion.

Thanks Phoenix. This is the first time he's had an accident and it really freaked me out.
I'm really ticked off that they weren't salting the roads at the time because it could have been much worse.
Our road is right on the coast and if he had slid in the other direction, he would have gone off a cliff into the ocean.
As we were sitting in my car waiting for the police, the salt truck/plow comes by. No doubt that the cops called them right after I called.
Grrrrr!!!!!!

Yes, lots of deep breaths.

No, I wasn't in the accident. He had my cell phone and called me right after and I rushed down there.
It was only a little over a mile from here..
He said he was driving very slow because he knew the roads were really bad.
A woman pulled over to make sure everyone was ok and she said that corner was very bad and it happened to her daughter in that very same spot 2 years earlier.
The cop even told my son that it wasn't his fault and this was pretty common when the roads were this bad.

Deep Breaths and holding my dominion.

Yeah, I'll second that!

I wish his car was too. It's going to need repair and it's gonna cost us.

That's for sure! When I got there I jumped out of the car and hugged him so hard I thought I'd crush him.

Well, you did get quite a fright, Montana! Is your son OK? A bit shaken, I'd imagine?

Yeah, he's ok. He was very shaken for a while, but now he's a bit ticked off that he has to dish out some $$$ to fix his car.
I guess they bounce back much quicker at such a young age.
My old nerves are taking a bit longer, though.

I can understand that, Montana. Try taking a few very deep breaths & sip on this nice glass of Oz white wine I'm sending you. Very Happy Yep, they do bounce back, with amazing ease, at that age!

Good to know he's okay. Sheet metal's a lot easier to fix than bones, but sorry for the expense.

Thanks for the wine ;-)

Yes, it is easier to replace and I'm thrilled to death that he's ok.

I shouldn't have even mentioned the car, but times are tight financially these days and he needs the car for work.

A pleasure, Montana.

Here, have another!

But you'll have to stop after that, I'm afraid. We wouldn't want you to become dependent, would we?
