The darkness of my world was all cleared away
The flowers are blooming it's a beautiful day
There's a girl with a heart as big as the sky she's sunshine and I know why
All for the love of sunshine all for the love of sunshine
The Lord smiled down on this life of mine and sent me the love of sunshine
Though sunshine can always make my days seem bright
Sunshine can warm up a cold cold night
I know my sunshine was sent from above an angel that's filled with love
All for the love of sunshine...
Through winter the springtime the summer and fall
The moonlight the starlight she outshines them all
In a world filled with fear with pain and such harm my sunshine can be so warm
All for the love of sunshine...
All for the love of sunshine...
All for the love of sunshine...

Bobby Helm - Fraulein
Far across deep blue water lives an old German's daughter
By the banks of the old River Rhine
Where I loved her and left her now I can't forget her I miss my pretty Fraulein
Fraulein Fraulein walk down by the river pretend that your hand's holding mine
By the same stars above you I swear that I love you you are my pretty Fraulein
[ steel - fiddle ]
When my memories wander away over yonder to the sweetheart that I left behind
In a moment of glory a face comes before me the face of my pretty Fraulein
Fraulein Fraulein look up toward the heavens
Each night when the stars start to shine
By the same stars above you I swear that I love you you are my pretty Fraulein

Webb Pierce - There Stands the Glass
There stands the glass that will ease all my pain
That will settle my brain, it's my first one today
There stands the glass, that will hide all my tears
That will drown all my fear, brother, I'm on my way
I'm wond'ring where you are tonight, I'm wond'ring if you are alright
I wonder if you think of me in my misery
There stands the glass, fill it up to the brim
'Til my troubles grow dim, it's my first one today
I'm wond'ring where you are tonight, I'm wond'ring if you are alright
I wonder if you think of me in my misery
There stands the glass, fill it up to the brim
'Til my troubles grow dim, it's my first one today

Webb Pierce - Even Though
Well even tho' you took the sunshine out of my heaven
Even tho' you took the twinkle out of my eyes
Oh, I will always be in love with you my darling
Even tho' I sit and wonder if I'm wise
Now since the day that you first told me that you love me
I have been head over heels in love with you
But now you say our little romance has to end dear
So I walk the floor and wonder what I'll do
There was a time when in my heart I didn't doubt you
Now I'm never sure of what you say or do
'Cause every time I put my little arms around you
Something tells me that you're not the same ole you
Well even tho' you took the sunshine out of my heaven
Even tho' you took the twinkle out of my eyes
Oh, I will always be in love with you my darling
Even tho' I sit and wonder if I'm wise

Red River Valley
Come and sit by my side, if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember that Red River Valley
And the cowboy that loves you so true
Well, they tell me, my dear, that you're going
I will miss your bright eyes and your smile
For with you you are taking the sunshine
That has brightened my life for a while
So come sit by my side, if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember that Red River Valley
And the cowboy that loved you so true
When you go to your home by the ocean
May you never forget those sweet hours
That we spent in that Red River Valley
And the love we exchanged with the flowers
So come sit by my side, if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember that Red River Valley
And the cowboy that loved you so true
I've have waited along time, my darling
For those words that you never would say
Still at last, my poor heart is breaking
For they tell me you're going away
So come sit by my side, if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember that Red River Valley
And the cowboy that loved you so true

Life to Go - Stonewall Jackson
I've got a sad sad story friends that I don't like to tell
I had a wife and family when they locked me in a cell
I've been in here eighteen years, a long, long time I know
But time don't mean a thing to me, 'cause I've got life to go
Well, I went one night where the lights were bright
Just to see what I could see
I met up with an old friend who just thought the world of me
Well he bought me drinks and took me to every honky tonk in town
Words were said, and now he's dead, I just had to bring him down
Well, it's been a long long time now, since I've heard from my wife
I know I'd be there with her yet if I hadn't used that knife
Well I bet that little girl of mine don't realize or know
Her Daddie's been here eightteen years, and still got life to go

There's a Little Box of Pine on the 7:29
(Billy and DeDette Lee Hill)
"Dear warden," wrote a mother, "how much longer must I wait,
Before you send my boy back home to me?"
She never knew the angels had unlocked the prison gate,
The one she loved at last had been set free.
The warden read her letter, and then he softly cried,
As with these words of sorrow he replied:
"There's a little box of pine on the Seven-twenty-nine,
Bringing back a lost sheep to the fold:
For a pardon from above has returned the one you love,
A sadder story never has been told.
Though he's taking his last ride, never more this world to roam,
On his face there is a smile, he knows he is going home;
There's a little box of pine on the Seven-twenty-nine,
Bringing back a lost sheep to the fold.
The church was filled with music as the sermon did begin,
His brokenhearted folks were gathered there;
The preacher told the story of the boy who followed sin,
The heavy load his loved ones now must bear,
When he had preached his sermon, the organ softly played,
As on their knees the congregation prayed.
There's a little box of pine on the Seven-twenty-nine,
Bringing back a lost sheep to the fold;
In the valley there are tears as the train of sorrow nears,
The sun is gone, the world seems dark and cold.
There his lonely mother waits with the girl he left behind,
On their knees they ask in prayer why Fate's been so unkind;
There's a little box of pine on the Seven-twenty-nine,
Bringing back a lost sheep to the fold.

Martina McBride tears this song up...a song that deals with spousal abuse in the midst of a small town's 4th of July celebration.
Indepenence Day
Well she seemed all right by dawn's early light
though she looked a little worried and weak.
She tried to pretend he wasn't drinkin' again
but daddy'd left the proof on her cheek.
And i was only eight years old that summer
and i always seemed to be in the way
so i took myself down to the fair in town
on Independence Day.
Well,word gets around in a small,small town
they said he was a dangerous man
but mama was proud and she stood her ground
but she knew she was on the losin' end.
Some folks whispered and some folks talked
but everybody looked the other way
and when time ran out there was no one about
on Independence Day.
Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing
let the whole world know that today
is a day of reckoning.
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong
roll the stone away, let the guilty pay
it's Independence Day.
Well, she lit up the sky that fourth of july
by the time that the firemen come
they just put out the flames
and took down some names
and send me to the county home.
Now i ain't sayin' it's right or it's wrong
but maybe it's the only way.
Talk about your revolution
it's Independence Day.

Sounds like "The Burning Bed", that horrifying movie about spousal abuse starring a not-so-pretty Farah Fawcett.
She fixed that sucker in the end.

Ring of Fire
Love is a burning thing,
It makes a firey ring,
Bound by wild desire,
I fell in a ring of fire,
I fell into a burning ring of fire,
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher,
I burned, burned, burned,
A ring of fire, a ring of fire,
The taste of love is sweet,
And hearts like ours meet,
I fell for you just like a child,
And oh, the fire went wild,
I fell into a burning ring of fire,
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher,
And burned, burned, burned,
A ring of fire, a ring of fire,
I fell into a burning ring of fire,
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher,
And burned, burned, burned,
A ring of fire,
A ring of fire,
The taste of love is sweet,
And hearts like ours meet,
I fell for you just like a child,
And oh, the fire went wild,
I fell into a burning ring of fire,
I went down, down, down and the flames went higher,
And burned, burned, burned,
A ring of fire. (Repeat, fade)

---- Instrumental Interlude ----
He saw Sally changin' clothes she was in a perfect pose
Sally let your bangs hang down

Sally let your bangs hang down
Sally she can land 'em she loves 'em and she leaves 'em
Sally let your bangs hang down I'll find out what Sally's got
Makes a man think she's so hot Sally let your bangs hang down
---- Instrumental Interlude ----
He saw Sally changin' clothes she was in a perfect pose
Sally let your bangs hang down
She caught me a peepin' in I don't think it was a sin
Sally let your bangs hang down
---- Instrumental Interlude ----
Now I'll haveta be confessin' Sally always kept me guessin'
Sally let your bangs hang down
She jumped up on a pony and she rode away with Tony
Sally let your bangs hang down

Blues Man
Hank Williams Jr.
I'm just a singer
A natural born guitar ringer
Kind of a clinger
To sad old songs
I'm not a walk behinder
I'm a new note finder
But my names a reminder
Of a blues man thats already gone
So I started drinkin
And took things that messed up my thinkin'
I was sure sinkin'
When you came along
I was alone in the hotlights
Not too much left in sight
But she changed all that in one night
When she sang me this song
Hey baby, I love you
Hey baby, I need you
Hey baby, you ain't gotta prove to me your some kind of macho man
You wasted so much of your life
Runnin through the dark nights
Let me shine some love light
Down on a blues man"
I got so sick of speedin
And all the stuff they said I was needin
If I was to keep pleasin all of my fans
I got cuffed on dirt roads
I got sued over no-shows
But you came and took all that old load down off this blues man
Hey baby, I love you too
Hey baby, I need you
Hey baby, I do get tired of this travelin band
I'm thirty years old now
Nights would be cold now
If you hadn't have stuck it out
With this blues man
I'm thirty years old now
Night sure would be cold now
If you hadn't hung around
with this blues man

Another good Hank Jr song we picked up recently
Dinosaur
Hey man them ain't high heel sneakers and they sure don't look like cowboy boots
and that's not rock-n-roll your playing and it sure ain't country or rhythm and blues
Your singin' a song about making love to your drummer. Well gay guitar pickers don't turn me on
and we don't all get into Donna Summer. Do you happen to know any ole Hank Williams songs?
Cause you see I'm a dinosaur I should have died out along time before.
Have pity on a dinosaur.Hand me my hat, excuse me man but where's the door?
It used to be I had alot of fun in this ole hangout. We get stone at the jukebox and stay out of fights.
Now and then light a little smoke in the truck out back.Oh then alittle ole Jim Beam and we'd get right.
You know these flashin' lights they sure make me dizzy and this disco is very strange to my ears.
It looks like they've turned the LongHorn into a spaceship and I'll be leaving as soon as I finish this beer.
Cause you see I'm a dinosaur.Should 've died out along time before.
There's a whole lot of dinosaurs.Give us our hats, excuse me man but where's the door?
Get us our hats, excuse me man, where's the door?

Panzade,
Yeah both versions of the song are good...I like "real" songs the best. It's pretty obvious that Hank was writing about his life, {he does that a lot, but this one is meaningful} I love the line where he mentions his dad...."But my names a reminder, Of a blues man thats already gone."
That one had a lot of mistakes in it...I think I got all of them, but there were at least 20.
Ironic for me as well, I was going to put up "Dinosaur" today when I got home from work....me and my buddies used to sing it all the time. I'll post another Hank after this one.

I Don't Remember Loving You
John Conlee
I don't remember loving you
And I don't recall the things
You say you put me through
You tell me that you've had
A guilty conscience for so long
You say that you walked out on me
You say you did me wrong
Well, I just don't see how that could be true
Cause I don't remember loving you
I don't remember loving you
You might talk to my doctor
He drops by each day at two
I get a funny feeling
When I look into your eyes
There's something in your smile
That gives my stomach butterflies
You must look like someone I once knew
But I don't remember loving you
I don't remember loving you
I heard you mention children
Did you say there's one or two?
You say I quit my job
And then I drank myself insane
You say that I ran down the highway
Screaming out your name
Well, that's not the sort of thing that I would do
No, I don't remember loving you
I don't remember loving you
I absolutely positively
Know that can't be true
But everyone I know here in this place
Is really strange
If you'll hand me my crayons
I'll be glad to take your name
In case I run across that guy you knew
But I don't remember loving you
I don't remember loving you
And I don't recall the things
You say you put me through
You tell me that you've had
A guilty conscience for so long
You say that you walked out on me
You say you did me wrong
Well, I just don't see how that could be true
Cause I don't remember loving you

The Pressure Is On
Hank Jr.
I got someone at home,
don't know whats going on
thinks I love her and her alone
and the pressure is on
I got a new love you see
she does new things to me
we sneak our love you's on the phone
and the pressure is on
And it puts pressure on a man
if he ever lets his heart call his hand.
he ain't no rolling stone
but the pressure is on.
Feel like your ten thousand feet
down under the sea
and its crushing all your bones
and the pressure is on.
The trains I ride in my dreams
run on the pressure of the steam.
Lord I could pull one a mile long
cause the pressure is on.
Lord I could pull one a mile long
cause the pressure is on
the pressure is on
the pressure at home
