Hi there!

I own a Princeton LCD17 monitor. Lately, it began shutting down by itself... I then had to turn it off and then back on again to have it working. Then I noticed that the image was in fact still there... only the backlighting goes off! As of today, it just won't come back on...

Can anybody help me with this? I'm an IT support tech. and I'm fairly handy too... but before I take this screen appart, I wanna know what to expect. Maybe the problem cannot be fixed at all... or maybe it's a simple matter of knowing what to look for.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Jef

Some shops offer relatively pricey backlight replacement services, but it ain't all that tricky, if you're OK with careful, fine-detail work. Getting ahold of the exact OEM lamp will prolly be all but impossible, but that need not be a dead end. Here's a fairly simple How-To that pretty well explains the generic proceedure.
