What do you guys know about factoring, and the Quadradic formula- what exactly is it used for in real life?
example problem:
(x+3)(x-9)
A quadratic equation is any equation of the form ax^2 + bx + c, where a, b, and c are numbers.
The product of (x+3)(x-9) is x^2 -6x -27. You might look into something called the FOIL method.
Yeah, I know the foil method, but from foil you go to the quadradic, and what I am getting at is for what purpose is it used in real life?
As for application--another one can be found in this
post.
The sum of the first n natural numbers, is in effect, quadratic.

Physics and engineering are filled with all sorts of equations including quadratic ones.
