On March 20, at 1:26 in the afternoon (EST) the sun will be directly above the equator and moving north.
This has been a long, white winter.
In the Spirit of Springtime, I'm starting a countdown:
100 pellets of sleet on the sidewalk.
99 pellets of rock salt tracked into the front hall.
Does anyone else want to play?
We've had little winter to speak of. The plant life here has already decreed it's spring.
here in the southern most reaches of the great white north it's expected to be near 65 by the end of next week, that's odd for this time of year
Edgar, djjd--
No count down?
98 flower beds, covered with old oak leaves
97 deer-nibbled bushes
96 starlings in a flock, arrived from the south
94 minutes of sunshine.....
93 bags of deicer on sale for half price
92 Toads on our driveway last night.
91 fermented blobs of dog crap out by the mailbox
I'll just enjoy the count down with adding to it.....
90 thunderclaps--although we've had thunderstorms all winter long this year.
89 drops of rain per second.......
I thought I posted on this thread a few minutes back. Well, some other members will get the benefit of my thinking on Houston weather.
88 millimetres of snow has fallen on my town today.
87 pounds of sympathy from a snow-free area.....
86% skunk aroma in my house (yes, we clean; they just lookin' fer love near the trash cans next door)
One touch of nature makes the whole world kin.
85 twigs per square foot to be raked up when the ground dries out.
84 acorns, sprouting with the intention of becoming oak trees
83 cars in the line at the car wash
82 single gloves/mittens in the elementary school lost and found
81 sore-nosed dogs who disremembered the exclusive habits of bees
80 piles of dirty snow in the parking lot, not quite melted yet
