ANYONE CAN HELP...??? SORRY FOR THE LAMGUAGE IN THE HEADING JUST A TAD BIT FRUSTRATED...

I DONT KNOW WHERE TO FIND A DIAGRAM OF A TREBUCHET THAT EXPLAINS HOW IT WORKS??? HELP PLEASE

I watched a documentary the other day where this woman who belonged to a club that like to do "adventurous" things volunteered herself to be the object flung by the trebuchet.

That was probably 10 years ago....her message today, as she sat there with her fused spine, waving her cane at the camera was.....don't try this at home.

<sigh> another dreamed dashed. I was gonna fling myself into barton springs pool from the top of robert e. lee.

maybe I'll substitute the cat.

if a trebuchet is standing still.. with no projectile loaded.... what energy would it involve?? static??? or just static friction??

I was using that as an instructional warning....

I was thinking maybe you were planning on using your mate Rob as the object thrown.

Consider two situations: Trebuchet at rest after projectile is thrown, and trebuchet wound and prepared for launch, but projectile not yet loaded.

FYI, a trebuchet's projectile typcally lays on the ground even after it has been loaded.
