As long as the music is good....who cares how a female holds one
....but I am partial to the way Lita Ford posed with her guitar

That begs the question, what is the corrrect feminine way to hold a guitar?
And thats a straight line that begs a misogynistic quip as rejoinder. I shall refrain, however.

How about Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon? She plays as good as any guy, and looks kinda sexy while she's doing it...
And, of course, she helped SY change the face of alternative rock.

I dont think there is a male/female way to hold a guitar, you just hold it.
Lets face it, there isnt much thats feminine about Chrissie Hynde.
In my defence I do like her and her songs.

The best way is as follows...
female on her knees, holding my guitar up at an angle straight out from my waist while she fellates me so that when she's finished I can run right back on stage for the next set.
That's rock 101.

Agree on the first part...there is no male female etiquette on gui-tar holding. My added part to that is that it should be held so the music can be played with clarity.
Disagree on the second part...she has always struck me as being a woman...of course as a gay male that may be part of my reasoning.

I dunno, I just thought we were talking about female guitarists, so I brought up a bass guitarist who's a girl, who I respect.

I am sure that Hynde really gives a rat's ass that she doesn't meet YOUR concept of femininity. To me, she is as feminine and sexy as any rocker out there. It is amazing that someone would try to dictate what is feminine and what is not. Or who is feminine and who is not. I fear that you are living in a gender prison.

You mean like the penis you wished you were born with?
