Not a song, but freaked me out, none-the-less:

Silent Snow--Secret Snow. Think of that everytime I hear snow songs.

I couldn't name a track for my life, but I have heard some recordings by Charles Manson and David Koresh which I never want to hear again. Gave me the serious heebie-jeebies.

Smorgs, it's the creepiest short story that you will ever read.

http://www.bookrags.com/biography/conrad-aiken/

Talk about shiver!

And since we have established that "compositions" are not just music, I always got uncomfortable when I read e.e.cummings poem, "In just Spring".

e.e. cummings

in just-
in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame baloonman

whistles far and wee

and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer
old baloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

it's
spring
and

the

goat-footed

baloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

Think about that baloon man, and you'll see what I'm thinking.

Bloody Valentine by Good Charlotte . . .

Oh, my love, please don't cry
I'll wash my bloody hands and we'll start a new life

I ripped out his throat
And called you on the telephone to take off my disguise
Just in time to hear you cry

When you mourn the death of your bloody valentine
The night he died
You mourned the death of your bloody valentine
One last time

Singing...

Oh my love please don't cry I'll wash my bloody hands
And we'll start a new life
I don't know much at all, I don't know wrong from right
All I know is that I love you tonight

There was...
Police and flashing lights
The rain came down so hard that night and the
Headlines read a lover died
No tell-tale heart was left to find

When you mourn the death of your bloody valentine
The night he died
You mourned the death of your bloody valentine
One last time

Singing...

Oh my love please don't cry I'll wash my bloody hands
And we'll start a new life
I don't know much at all, I don't know wrong from right
All I know is that I love you tonight

Tonight...

He dropped you off I followed him home
Then I stood outside his bedroom window
Standing over him he begged me not to do
What I knew I had to do 'cause I'm so in love with you

Oh my love please don't cry I'll wash my bloody hands
And we'll start a new life
I don't know much at all, I don't know wrong from right
All I know is that I love you tonight

Tonight...

Jp- Cool song, I was reading the lyrics and was wondering how it would play. I was picturing something like a Tom Waits type monologue like the song "Whats he building in there?" which is also kind of creepy.

TOM WAITS lyrics - "What's He Building?"

What's he building in there?
What the hell is he building
In there?
He has subscriptions to those
Magazines... He never
Waves when he goes by
He's hiding something from
The rest of us... He's all
To himself... I think I know
Why... He took down the
Tire swing from the Peppertree
He has no children of his
Own you see... He has no dog
And he has no friends and
His lawn is dying... and
What about all those packages
He sends. What's he building in there?
With that hook light
On the stairs. What's he building
In there... I'll tell you one thing
He's not building a playhouse for
The children what's he building
In there?

Now what's that sound from under the door?
He's pounding nails into a
Hardwood floor... and I
Swear to god I heard someone
Moaning low... and I keep
Seeing the blue light of a
T.V. show...
He has a router
And a table saw... and you
Won't believe what Mr. Sticha saw
There's poison underneath the sink
Of course... But there's also
Enough formaldehyde to choke
A horse... What's he building
In there. What the hell is he
Building in there? I heard he
Has an ex-wife in some place
Called Mayors Income, Tennessee
And he used to have a
consulting business in Indonesia...
but what is he building in there?
What the hell is building in there?

He has no friends
But he gets a lot of mail
I'll bet he spent a little
Time in jail...
I heard he was up on the
Roof last night
Signaling with a flashlight
And what's that tune he's
Always whistling...
What's he building in there?
What's he building in there?

We have a right to know...

Hey that soounds like a good one. I like how the Sebadoh song just gets crazier and crazier as it goes on. Is the Waits song like that?

No, He just says the lyrics in a creepy sort of monotone voice. How old is that Sebadoh song? I have never heard of them before.

It's gotta be at least 10 years old. Lou Barlow started Sebadoh but he was also in Dinosaur Jr. for awhile and also started another band called Folk Implosion. He may have been doing all three bands at one time for a short period so the time line is a little fuzzy.

The music is all really different. That song is off of the Sebadoh III albumn. Harmacy is another good albumn. Folk Implosion has some petty good stuff too.

I saw Sebadoh once at the Metro and had a really good time at that show. It was really kind of mellow and just walking in the place you'd catch a contact buzz.

Folk Implosion sounds very familiar. I have to check Sebadoh out.

The Metro is one of the best venues in Chicago. I always check the reader to find out who is playing there.

I love the Metro. I'd have to say at least 75% of the shows I have seen have been at the Metro. That and the Vic.

The Metro is my favorite venue. Saw The Faint, Tomahawk, and the Cranes there when lived in Chi-town.

The Vic was always a kickass place on Brew n' View night. Nothing like three movies and cheap beer.

There was a song that started out with an eerie orchestra piece and then there was some backwards talking...could've been ELO....devilish.

Earlier in the thread Mike Oldfield was mentioned.
give the guy a break, he didn't write Tubular Bells
for the film. In fact as I remember He didn't realize
what type film it was being used in.
The song that really gets to me is by a local band
called MY DEAD GIRLFRIEND. It's about a guy who keeps his girlfriend around after she dies
