what is the name of a plant in europe that starts with the letter (L)
Welcome to A2K, hilljc.
With your clue, you may have narrowed it down to about 3000.
How many letters?
Is it a plant GROUP, or a specific name of a plant?
Common name, or latin?
Is this Flora or a Factory you are asking about?
....trick question?
Believe it or not this is a question for a class assignment. It doesn't matter how many letters and it needs to be the name of a specific plant not plant type. Thnks
lilac, lilly and larch-thnx
Linden, lamb's ear, larkspur.
Properly spelled, "lily" only has two letter Ls.
There are suprisingly few beginning with L
Lords an Ladies (Arum maculatum) is a common plant of woods and hedgerows.
Lily-of-the-valley (Convallaria majalis) grows wild in woods and on chalky soils
Lucerne (Medicago sativa) grows on roadsides - but it isn't native - its from the mediterranean
Lady's mantle (Alchemilla vulgaris) - this is a good one.
Medieval alchemists collected the dew from lady's mantle at dawn and used it in their experiments to manufacture gold from common metals.
I got these out of a field guide I'm using for research - hope its of some help.
