I was playing these tracks in a row earlier on, improvising them into a playlist of sorts - it was an interesting sequence, kind of a politically incorrect world music one, very varied, but it worked! I started out with Amalia Rodrigues' version of Blue Moon, which is so corny and so totally brilliant, and from there on:

my playlist consists of a lot of japanese anime themesongs, a few punk covers, some j-pop, some j-punk, linkin park, and various songs from the matrix. most of the songs don't have words, and out of the ones that do, only 12 are in english.

I've only stolen one song off the internet. It was 'White Wedding' by Billy Idol in order to learn it for the band I'm in. I buy CD's.

One sad consequence of the file-sharing thing: the CD-rent store around the corner, where you could rent the newest and hippest CDs for a day for a dollar or two, closed business last month. I was long a faithful customer, who paid way too much in fees for returning my CDs late ... It opened up a little after I moved here, existed for twelve years or so. End of an era. But its true, I hadnt gone there for a long time anymore either.
