i bought this watch at a yard sale.
it has 3 turning things on the side, i am not sure how to make the watch working.
and this is not exactly the forum for it. so i am just asking this randomly see if i will get a response at all.
if not, anyone knows any forum that i can ask a question like that? thanks.
Its gotta be a nockoff. The center peg is usually the dial and calendar
the other 2 are the stop watch reset and the stop /go and the 24 hr . PS what model is it, you can go to Cartier on the web and put in the model. Most all watches have this available.
here are the pics.
on the back, it has 2303 bb14428, does that mean anything?
I bought a Movado a few years ago , and in order to turn it on, I had to pull out the 'hand control' dial, turn it BACKWARDS , push it back in, let it begin to tick, then I could re-set the time.
might work ?
Type in that set of numbers along with the word cariter in Google search.. see what it says..
Thats a Cartier Pasha Chronograph (or a good nockoffd) Its kinda banged around so the guy who owned it was probably an engineer or field geologist ( we still use watches instead of cell phones for timing of pumps or tanks or wells)
A pasha would run about 4 grand new. Its a good rugged watch for accurate time (I like Tag Heuers cause they have digital and analog numbers on the same watch)
Id take it to a jewelers and give him a number w31048M7 (thats the pasha chronograph series number, see if its on there above the serial number)
Mine gets turned on with a nice dnner and a few glasses of red wine.
I was gonna say that but thought , no thats too obvious.
PS-youngman, you do know that these watches have batteries?
oh, so it needs batteries? how much would it cost to change one?
this is very helpful. thanks.
about 20 bucks for the jeweler tp do it. I wouldnt screw with it cause the battery is about 9 bucks and you need a secial spanner. Theres a little gasket in the back that keeps it from taking on water. the jeweler will check thoseand replace it if need be. Gaskets can get brittle after a few years , and the batteries usually last about 2
ya. thanks.
i just checked the online picture. it seems that this one is a fake. the window that shown the date is not at the same position as the one from caritier's web site.
