Hi Carole and Dutchy

Carole, Hope you had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all the best for the New Year! All of Dutchy's answers are spot on! :wink:

22A. Roman army devision = Legion
right opposite = L (left)
Take the 'R' from 'region and replace it with 'L'

47A. Obtain = get
example = 'eg' reordered =ge
before
'the' start = T

15D. Woods = Forest
feet = ft
'sore' + 'ft' is an anagram of 'forest

24D. Very pale = Pallid
dad = pa
pickle = dill
'pa' + 'dill' is an anagram of 'pallid'

43D. Natural = Innate
'in a net' is an anagram of 'innate'

49D. Brushes = Brooms
second-rate = B
suites = rooms

55D. Collapsed from the pressure = Imploded
one = i
parliamentarian = MP
silly (rearranged) 'old' = lod
news chief = ed (abreviated)
I + MP + LOD + ED

Good luck in the competition! Post again if you get stuck :wink:

Talk to you soon.
Warm regards, Butterfly Very Happy
