The Latin word for copper is cuprum, which is why the symbol "cu" is used.

There, that's a start . . . now i advise you to find and learn how to use a search engine. Your honesty about your science report is refreshing, but most folks here don't like to do homework for school kids. But maybe you'll get lucky.

This should not be in the "forum help" forum. I suggest that you look up at the top of the page, and click on "Forums." Then find the Science and Mathematics forum, and post your question there. As i said, maybe you'll get lucky.

Hi. Have you tried making those searches on Google.com?

Or try reading copper's Wikipedia entry.

Well, it seems someone has moved your thread to the appropriate forum.

Tico's advice is the best, and he's given you a leg up on the problem with the Wikipedia link . . .

In seriousness, good luck with your report.
