lovatts holiday cryptic

Hi tuesday and welcome to A2K.

A lot of are good at puzzles but we need to know the complete clue, etc. because many of us don't get the "Lovatts" puzzles.

Hi Tuesday

Answer to 14d = jockey

25a = cyphers

Boomerang the clue to 14 down reads: "He directs from back seat during race"

Clue for 25a reads: "Codes you produced had everyone really stumped at first"

I'm sure someone else will confirm above.

I have the same cryptic answers as Dutchy:

14D. He directs from back seat during race = Jockey

25A. Codes = Cyphers (variant spelling of 'ciphers')
at first = the 'first letter of each word in the clue spells out the answer
Codes You Produced Had Everyone Really Stumped

I have letters o?e.
so am assuming the
answer they want is owe

Lovatts have acknowledged that a "gremlin" has crept into 153d of the Holiday Stinker No.56. The correct answers is "owe" as you've got it.
