Ok, I will be the brave one...hee! A modern sonnet I wrote for my now wife in our courting days, while away at chefs school (and trust me, I think it is maudlin):

To kiss the stars of heaven would not be
So sweet as the taste of dew from your lips,
Sister Luna, my perfect opposite.
You complete the circle that is my soul . . .

Cav

Not maudlin, LOVING.

It captures the wonder and joy of being in love.

I like it!

Frankly my dear, there ain't no such animal as an "average A2Ker." Wink

C.I.
You are definitely right.

While it is interesting to think about and discover what commonalities we A2Kers have and what 'clusters' there are in age, politics etc., to infer that there is an 'average A2Ker' (in any real sense) is mistaken.

What most strikes me about the A2Kers I have come to know is that each is a UNIQUE PERSONALITY.

To me this vibrant individuality is what is so attractive about A2K.

It is something we should celebrate.

Describe the average A2K'er...in one word?

I'd have to say...

Slappy.

Thanks all for the compliments Embarrassed

Piffka, with the sister luna part, I guess I was just thinking, sister luna, sister moon, the feminine principle to my sun...perfect opposites, trying to juxtapose the idea of the sun and moon existing in a yin-yang kinda state, always together, but separate entities in their own right. Rolling Eyes Always hated poetry analysis in school, lol

BPB, what is the difference between a pessimist and an optimist? The pessimist thinks things couldn't possibly get worse, the optimist knows they can. Very Happy I've always liked that one, being a cynic myself.

Phoenix, you're the one with the fetish for getting clubbed over the head with baseball bats. Thought you were going to keep that hush-hush.

Bi-Polar, I'm with you there (for a similar reason).

Carefull Rae, their's a van outside and men in white coats are giving you a funny look dear.

Oldandnew, now if you know that I've had that experience in reality, not once but twice in a few weeks... the first time, I was walking along the river reciting poetry (aloud, admitted), the second time, I was walking along the other bank of the river picking flowers... (longer version coming up later, maybe)

EhBeth, 'this is not a group for average people', do I hear you say 'group' and 'average' in one eight-word sentence?

Art, was this display of public utterances experienced in Amsterdam per chance ? Those canals can be very confusing, especialy at night, when you don't know if you should look down at the water or up at the windows of the smart appartments.

But that, of course, was not the sense of the original question at all, was it?

Why the bloody hell am I using all these query marks?

It seems that the only common average we have as A2Kers is the fact that we have access to a computer. c.i.
