I remember my Mum saying to me "Ellpus, never buy a swamp, for you will inherit one in years to come"

I thought she was just drunk again, but now I'm beginning to see.

When I was younger, I told a friend I thought it would be interesting to go to a place like Kansas and stand in the middle of a field, look around and see the horizon 360 degrees with no houses, phone poles etc.

One day, through hard work and dogged determination, I found myself doing just that.

"Boy" I remember saying to myself "This really sucks"

They do, indeed, have wheatboys. As we call them, hayseeds. Btw LE Kansas is not considered a western state, the west begins (from the north-Montana-Wyoming-Colorado-New Mexico) Kansas is in the mid-west as is Illinois. California is considered part of the lost continent of Atlantis.

Yes indeed, that would be true.

You know where they DO have cowboying though? REAL cowboys?

Cushing Oklahoma.

HOLY SH*T!

HOT DAMN!

Cushing is also in the middle of nowhere. We were visitin' rel'tives.

We were eating breakfast at a local place, early, like 7am.

Wellll, I'll tell you whut, these here cowboys had been out workin' for hours already, and were taking a break for grub.

Chaps - hats - bandanas - one day old beard - boots, all of which were covered with real man dirt, the kind you get by for hours before breakfast.

I kept forgetting to chew.

"I'm sorry dear, what did you say?"
