I've always been fascinated by the night time lights image:

If you look above and extending upward and slightly to the east of the Minneapolis/St Paul Metro light patch, just below the western limb of Lake Superior, you'll see a very noticeable dark area. I'm about in the middle of that.

Some folks will get a kick out of Google Earth ... its a really neat toy, if you're into that sorta thing.
