I think young Dag must have fallen asleep in her hotel room ... I never got through to her phone #s ("unavailable" messages), and there's no re: to the email - oh dear. Better explain to my Amsterdam friend ;-)

I held back from posting earlier that I figured Dag would go to sleep, just for a little nap, and then sleep. (Why would I post that, she has energizer bunny abilities).

Still, we don't even know what hotel she made it to...

Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

nimh was right. my Big Unplanned thus ALl the More Exciting Adventure in Amsterdam amounted to..........

.........a 16 hour long sleep.

Embarrassed

I was 120% determined to go out. I went to a hotel (uninteresting bland big airport hotel ) right near the airport, because there's a subway from the airport into amsterdam and a free shuttle between hotel and airport.

perfect. i checked in sometime before 6pm, went to my room, freshened up a little, put makup on and all that, then i figured i have time for a little nap. so i turned tv on, left lights on, figuring i'll just go in 1/2 hour when the next shuttle comes.

well, i woke up at 8am. i must have gotten up at night at some point to switch the lights and tv off and get under the covers... but that's all the action i had in amsterdam. Crying or Very sad
i am mightily refreshed though, and since i only slept for 5 hours during the two nights before combined (counting in an hour of tossing for my feet turned into blocks of ice and they would not warm up for the devil no matter what i did - a sign of utter exhaustion) it was a badly needed sleep.

i'll be back in amsterdam soon enough. sorry to let you all down. i promise my next adventure will be much more lively...

Youe Heroine made it safely into Boston. Or Brookline. Now she sits and waits for Mr.B, who lost his cellphone. Left a message with address here, waiting for him to show - but I called 2 hours ago.... Now I'm starving and opened a bottle of red wine... hee hee. who knows what he finds when he gets here...

I think dys and Diane stayed at the Best Western in Amsterdam. The name Amstel does sound familiar.
