each ocean has a huge drain that keeps the water from spillingover the top. Romans did it under the great emperor Aquiis Calientiis IX

Blow a bubble under water. Does the water run into the bubble? No. The bubble rises through the water. This is called enlightenment.

Space is vacuum. To blow a bubble, one must create a vacuum bubble. The rest is left as an exercise for the student.

Angelique wrote rather demurely, "Is this a serious thread"

Are you serious? Laughing

Farmerman continues the festive sprit of scientific quest with a very interesting question, "If youre traveling at the speed of light and then you turn on your headlights, does anything happen?"

As nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, the light cannot precede the craft. However, can it move from the filament to the glass? If not forward, sideways? What a good question.

Tryagain. Dont be too congratulatory on me, I stole that from Steven Wright, the comedian.

He proposed many pieces of humor that start with science or engineering
Like
"I once bought a humidifier and a dehumidifier, put em in the same room to let em fight it out."

Farmerman, do not underestimate your contribution to a very enjoyable read. As my science knowledge is a joke, I feel right at home. Laughing

Ok DD, I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in science classrooms across the country, and eventually the world; One third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence.

What was (the) flying spaghetti monster doing? Anyhoo.
