Little Sparrow: P???(paif?)
5th Century invaders: ???ol
Must be getting old to be bowled by the Baffler. Please help
Little Sparrow - nickname for Edith Piaf French singer
Sheaf of arrows? Just thinking sheaf of wheat.
Hi Farkha
5th Century invaders is "saxon" from memory, I can't check it as I have submitted my entry.
I note you have an "l" on the end, is interlocking word correct?
Regards Dutchy
I'm pretty sure Saxon is correct - interlocking word is Managua
I'm confused on the French vineyards CR?S - I know it has cropped up before, but I can find references to Cras, Cres, Cros and Crus - though all seem vague - I must be tired or overlooking the obvious.
Hi Lezzles,
A French vineyard is called a 'CRU' (singular)
'CRUS' (plural)
Hope this helps you.
Regards, Butterfly
Thanks all- I wrote maLagua instead of maNagua thereby not allowing saxoN to fit
I also think sheaf of arrows would be the same as quiver of arrows. Will get into the dictionaries and let u know 2moro. Cheers
Hi Farkha,
For 'Quiver of arrows' I have 'sheaf' (A sheaf being 24 arrows)
Good luck in the competition!
Regards, Butterfly

Hi Dutchy,

You're a legend!
Talk to you again soon.
