For what it is worth I have come up with the following answers:

37d = medal

71d = act

69a = bankmanager

74a = stargazers

For 37D. I also have 'medal'
decoration = medal
left = L
L + the letters of 'made' = medal
For 69A. I also have 'bankmanager'
*71D. rescue vessel = ark
D= 500 (in roman numerals)
went off = take off 500 from the word dark to give 'ark'
*74A. crackers = skyrockets
they will reach great heights = skyrockets

Once again you have come to my aid in finishing a wonderful cryptic crossword! I decided to tackle my first cryptic about 6 months ago. I used to tear out the pages & send them to my Mum in Sydney. She would complete them & send them back. Now I photocopy them & send them & we compare answers & I often correct her now. I just love them & can never wait till the next issue comes out! Also love the Demon, Mega Stinker etc. Love this site - just shows how many clever people are out there - 2 in particular!!!! Thanks again for your help - it is greatly appreciated. PS Buzz is my little dog's name.

There is another clue I am having trouble with in the Colossus 101 cryptic - it is 63D - Talk a little about putting in caustic soda for instance. I have
?e?a?i and do you have exile for 67A - Lee confused about cricket team ostracism?

63D. 'caustic soda for instance' = 'alkali'
you will find alkali in the words 'tALK A LIttle'

65A. 'the kind of change that involves no notes' = 'small' (change)

67A. 'ostracism' = 'exile'
cricket team = XI (eleven in roman numerals)
the letters of 'LEE' + XI = 'exile'
