I sung that one to my girlfriend!
My very first concert was Eric Burdon andf the Animals in 1965
The Yardbirds with Jimmy Page
Jimi Hendrix w/ the Experience
Jeff Beck (numerous times -- all incredible)
Stevie Ray Vaughn (6 months before he died)
with Jeff Beck (double-bill)
Other favorite concerts were:
Linda Ronstadt
Little Feat w/Lowell George
with Dave Mason (after he left Traffic)
Ten CC
BB King (defunct Paul's Mall in Boston)
Bonnie Raitt
Bob Dylan numerous times..(all good)
Eagles/Fleetwood Mac (w/ Joe Walsh) concert in '75 at then-Schaffer stadium in Foxboro Mass
I should also mention the debacle I witnessed in "The Greatest Rap Show Ever," a lollapolooza-type show for rap groups. I was in high school, and the group I was with were probably the only white people in the stadium. In between groups, the lights would come on, and brawls would just break out everywhere. I saw someone's head get kicked in, people were throwing chairs...luckily I was in a pretty tame section, except for the person in the next aisle pulling out a knife during the show. Then leaving the show someone started waving a gun around.
Good times.
I think my favorite was a combination Molly Hatchet & Kansas concert.
Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones
I forgot the ultimate kick-ass show ever:
'FUPA' in Hampton Beach.
Bi-Polar Bear,
Sorry to hear Todd disappointed. He has gotten a little wierder in his old age, but then haven't we all?
OMG, I have ISB's 5000 layers on vinyl....
Believe it or not, this discussion of ISB inspired me to do a little research, and I discovered the book that inspired "Douglas Traherne Harding." It's "On Having No Head: Zen and the Rediscovery of the Obvious" by Douglas E. Harding. Published in 1961 and still in print. The title, of course, relates to the opening lines of the song, to wit:
When I was born I had no head
My eye was single and my body was filled with light
It's a great tune from "The Big Huge" (which I have on vinyl). Now I'm gonna read that book. I figure it's never too late for a bit of spiritual enlightenment...
