Hi i need to do a chem experiment for my A-Level studies and I have chosen to do an experiment to find the amount of manganese there is in an a paper clip. The thing is that I need to have two methods of determinating it. I can only find one though here it is:
Converting the manganese in my paperclip into a soloution containing the purple manganate(VII) ion, MnO4- (aq). This is done in two stages. Nitric acid oxidises the manganese to Mn2+ (aq) ions. A more powerful oxidising agent, potassium iodate (VII) KIO4, is then needed to complete the oxidation to manganese(VII)
This is the only way that I have found PLZ PLZ PLZ, can someone help me

cos its really important.
Thanks
