NEED HELP WTH CHEM PROJECT

Hi i need to do a chem experiment for my A-Level studies and I have chosen to do an experiment to find the amount of manganese there is in an a paper clip. The thing is that I need to have two methods of determinating it. I can only find one though here it is:

Converting the manganese in my paperclip into a soloution containing the purple manganate(VII) ion, MnO4- (aq). This is done in two stages. Nitric acid oxidises the manganese to Mn2+ (aq) ions. A more powerful oxidising agent, potassium iodate (VII) KIO4, is then needed to complete the oxidation to manganese(VII)

This is the only way that I have found PLZ PLZ PLZ, can someone help me Crying or Very sad cos its really important.

Thanks Very Happy

answer
i just want to recommand this method:
Burn the paper : Mn + O2 --> MnO2
Then, submerge it in HCl solution, heat this solution lightly
MnO2 + HCl --> MnCl2 + Cl2 + H2O
Cl2 will vaporize, you will get the solution of MnCl2
Then heat this solution until it become solid (all the water vaporizes), weigh the acquired solid you find the weight of MnCl2
weight of MnCl2 55 + 35.5x2
------------------ = -------------------
weigh of Mn 55

Then you can find the amount of mangan in the paper.
Hope this will help you.
If i'm wrong pls correct me
