Can I charge AA Nickel-Cadmium batteries (for use in solar lamps and normally charged by a solar panel) in the same charger I use to charge the AA Nickel Metal Hydride batteries used in my digital camera?

You can't recharge NiMH batteries in an old NiCd charger. If you try the batteries could explode. If your charger isn't specifically labeled as handling NiMH batteries, then it can't.

[edit] I just reread and realized that I read your question backwards. The answer is that you can put the NiCd batteries into newer NiMH chargers. Just not the reverse as mentioned above.
