Anyone know of a short poem on card games, specifically on contract bridge?
I found this, I hope it helps.

I have family members who play cards and gamble, and I hate it. I did not know there was poetry about card playing.
Poetry that Includes Reference to or about bridge or whist
I, too, am looking for a poem that refers to or is about bridge. Have you found anything yet?

Bridge Poem
I would love to read your bridge poem. I, too, just wrote a silly little one. Should have called it "The Last Bridge Game." I met my special friend Don at our duplicate bridge club in town. We used to have so much fun playing as partners but decided, after our games became testy, that we would be better off abandoning our bridge partnership and stick to other things we both enjoy. So please send me your poem and, if you like, I'll send you mine.
Thanks. Sandy

Fair enough! It'll take a couple of days, though, because I don't know where I put the notibook that has it.
Bridge poem
Here you go:
Each wrinkled brow. Each furrowed ridge
Divine devotion shows to BRIDGE.
Bright conversation's self now lards
With calls to cut the deck of cards.
The deal, the bid, the play, and then
POST MORTEM plays the hand again.
Refreshments call, the contest ends,
Opponents now revert to FRIENDS.

Have your permission to print your bridge poem in our local duplicate bridge club newsletter? I'ts so fine!

Poem on Bridge
Thank goodness for Google! Two years ago I posted a short poem on Bridge, and am now in need of a copy. Unfortunately, I've lost whatever file it was in. On the other hand, FORTUNATELY, I remembered that Google sometimes picks up A2K posts, and lo and behold, there was the link. So now I've recopied it, saved it, and can pass it along to its latest promised destination.
So, Sandy, it's great that you had asked for it back in December of 2005! It was a kind of roundabout search, but there it was.
