Pretty much sums up what it's like inside my mind, as a matter of fact.
That's why it's not difficult for me to keep up with threads like this.
the answer can best be summed up by the beautiful lyrics of camper van beethoven's song "sweethearts"
'Cause in the mind of Ronald Reagan
Wheels they turn and gears they grind
Buildings collapse in slow motion
And trains collide, everything is fine
Everything is fine
Everything is fine
I have no idea what goes on inside my head and I have a feeling it may be better that way.
<haven't read up>
I'm a thinker. I don't mean I'm an intellectual, I just am always thinking. My mind is like a stove with 6 burners.
One has a hot water kettle on all the time - life basics like daily schedule, lunch, dinner, do I need to buy groceries, what about the laundry......
A couple of burners seem to be caked with crusty over-boil and those are devoted to financial woes and sick animals.
Another burner is online with family and friends -I should see if my brother is doing ok, when was the last time I emailed my lil sister, I wonder if she's pregnant yet, I should get back in touch with Kevin - I really dropped the ball there.
The fifth burner is a raging pot of boiling news.
Sometimes the other burner is on, sometimes it's off. It might be simmering a book I'm reading, or a play I just saw. Or thinking about plants to plant or pull.
The best ways to clean the stove are: movies, sex, hiking - etc.
this is what's usually going on inside my head
Looks mighty familiar...was wond'ring what happened to Uncle Ned...
I like that stove analogy, l'k.
I'm having trouble getting my pilot light lit this AM.
I know how to light up a pilot.....
<where's my list of phone numbers for peeps in NYC?>
<why did I think I could do real work at 7:30 a.m. without having breakfast?>
<it's nice and quiet here>
<who are those people?>
<is E here yet?>
<the freakin' phone numbers!>
<when should I change my voicemail again?>
<did they order the bed?>
it is freakin' pinball

I love it when you talk like that.
