thanks sfs - and how about a mosquito count?
Rain implies mosquito populations. Drought means few mosquitoes.

India online journal (November 2001), with tips on dealing with mosquitoes.
Clary/McTag you do realise that there is no need for you to actually visit India. Just keep posting here, everyone will be happy.
I am an Indian, Can i help?
I have no idea spidergal
do you know anything about mosquitos?
Oops! I am just scratching away a mosquito bite. Mosquitoes are troublesome, I accept. Autumn has just set in. The weather is cooler. The mosquitoes have the perfect conditions to breed. Their numbers have spurted during these days, no wonder.
Action Steps
1. Use a Mosquito net. That's the best guard against them
2. If that's too much a trouble, buy Allout Mosquito Repallent Liquideser. You need to plug it in to the mains and it spreads its vapours around. You may purchase a Turtle Mosquito coil as another option but that is bad for lungs, so strike it off.
3. Spray a strong perfume around, that compliments the work of Repellants.
4. A very effective way is burn a bunch of Neem leaves if you are camping under night sky. This method is eco and human friendly.
5. And please don't use a mosquito repellant skin scream. That has shown to cause Allergies.
eh, i was fine with just a plain Off. Just make sure it has around 30% Deet. Must have deet! Oh, just one minor comment on that blog that walter posted a link to - nobody has ever tried to rob me. unlike in spain, new york, and prague. i'm sure it happens, but i wouldn't be overly paranoid about that. in fact, quite the contrary. perhaps just my experience, dunno.
another i have learnt this last time: i am NEVER EVer going to take malaria pills again, no matter what. i'd rather have malaria itself, i think. nausea, sleeplessness, blurry vision, you name it, i had it. if you're sensitive to medications, better not go there. with a good mosquito spray you'll be just fine. i took malaria pills two or three times - the time before last i had minor bouts of insomnia, nothing terrible, but this last time, uggghhhhg, pure misery.

Somebody should visit Backwaters of Kerala ... they are awesome... Keralite landscapes are similar to Thailand.. even the food....
That may well be on the itinerary.
