A Halloween magic show costs $4 for adults and $1 for children under 10. If twice as many children attend as adults and the show received a total of $72, how many adults and how many children attended?

Your eqations are:

4x + y = 72 ($4/adult + $1/child = $72 taken in)
2x = y (twice as many children as adults)

substitute 2x for y in the first eqation and solve for x (number of adults) then multipy by 2 to get Y (number of children)
