The original Necronomicon was in H.P. Lovecraft's mind, it was a fictional book, a ghost title ...

Do you want a map for the Emerald City or a scholarship to Hogwarts.

I have a book called The R'lyeth Text (Robert Turner), and it says it does exists.

Whoever finds it let me know. Confused

You don't know what I'm talking about apparently, the book written by H. P. Lovecraft WAS NOT THE ORIGINAL. The original is not a fictional story, the original contains practices, magic rites, and laws concerning the dead. And there are copies of it, but again very hard to find so thats why I ask if anybody by chance knows were I could find it

You don't understand. The Necronomicon wasn't a book by H.P. Lovecraft, it was a book appearing in some of Lovecraft's work. A fictional book as a plot device, like, for instance, Goldstein's Book, appearing in Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four.

Later, some people wrote an actual Necronomicon, based on what Lovecraft described, but the original book (which is what you asked) was in Lovecraft's mind and work.

If you've seen them floating around, why are they hard to get? Perhaps you need a step ladder?

Gosh, I wonder why those book shops can't point you in the right directions?

MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE THE BOOK DOESN'T EXIT, EXCEPT AS A DEVICE IN ANOTHER BOOK!

No, no....couldn't be that.....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Necronomicon

Wikipedia wrote:
The Necronomicon is a fictional book invented by H.P. Lovecraft and is often featured in stories based on the Cthulhu mythos inspired by his works. However, there are those who believe in the existence of an actual ancient text called the Necronomicon fitting the description given in Lovecraft's fiction.

Wikipedia wrote:
Though Lovecraft insisted the book was pure invention (and other writers invented passages from the book in their own works), there are accounts of some people actually believing his Necronomicon to be a real book. Even during Lovecraft's life he received letters from fans inquiring about the Necronomicon's actuality

So, yes, some people believe this book to be real. Mostly the young and/or stubborn, I guess ...
