William Conrad. Had a great voice. For me was weak as a TV performer, but he outdid James Arness as Mat Dillon.

Glen Ford did TV. This episode of Cade's County features Bobby Darin thinking he's Billy the Kid.

@edgarblythe,
Ms. Weld is an actual Boston Brahmin type. She's related to (among many, many other people) Bill Weld, who was governor of Massachusetts in the 90s.

I used their relative, George Walker Weld (he was born in 1840 and is one of the founders of what became the organization that puts on the Boston Marathon every year) as a character in a series of books which loosely come under the title The Real Hub of the Universe.

But back to the topic at hand!

I suspect Millennials and Gen Z don't know that there was a TV series called The Planet of the Apes which uses the same makeup as the original films. Roddy McDowell is in it, but his character is named Galen. Also stars James Naughton and Ron Harper.

@jespah,
"Planet of the Apes" was a fabulous movie and I saw it in the theater several times in 1968, but I watched about 15 minutes if the first episode of the series and that was enough for a lifetime.

@Brandon9000,
The series definitely left a lot to be desired (I watched for James Naughton, as I recall)...
