This 'online' cryptic competition doesn't have any numbers on the grid.
I am stuck on 2 clues
a down clue. Start to connect directly with a room (4,3)
I have- L?a? ??f
an across clue. Nomad starts to change and lose control (2,3)
I have- ?? ?a?
I'm sorry that i don't have anymore letters to give as a reference!

Down ---- LEAD OFF (first room off another)
Across ---- GO MAD (Start of nomad changed)
