Kristine is riding in car 4 of the Ferris wheel. The Ferris wheel is rotating in a clockwise direction. The eight cars are equally spaced around the
circular wheel. Express, in radians, the measure of the smallest angle
through which she will travel to reach the bottom of the Ferris wheel.
That depends on where car 4 is right now.
ok
Picture a clock. Car 4 is, according to the given diagram, at 5 minutes to 12. Can you set up an equation?
Can you figure out what angle the car starts at and what angle the car ends at?
ok
If I could, I would solve the question alone, right?
Ignoring radians for now, how many degrees are in a circle? Therefore, how many degrees are there between 11:00 and 6:00 (what fraction of the circle does this represent?)?
Once you've figured the answer in degrees, there are 2*pi radians in 360 degrees.
