JP,

Many physicists hate this movie because it is grossly misinterprets Quantum physics in its attempt to link science and philosophy. There are few who consider this movie science, and I wouldn't consider this movie as any source of scientific facts.

I fairness I haven't seen the movie yet . I actually was planning to rent it since a Physics friend of mine thought it was interesting (I think he used the term "entertaining") even though the science was misrepresented.

The criticisms of this movie by scientists is explained in this Wikipedia article.

David Albert, one of the Columbia physicists who was used in the film was "very outraged by the final product".

This film is not a good source for science fact.

Good info, ebrown. Just for clarification sake, I never stated it as "scientific fact," just mentioned that I saw the movie and retold what I heard there.

OK, JP.

Sorry. My pet peeve is not with you. I think it does cover the makers of the movie (but I will reserve judgement until I see it).

Oh my god, What the Bleep De We Know . . . rolled on the floor . . .

We had a member here for a short while who was making outrageous claims, and when asked for support, would link pages which wanted to sell you books, lectures, CDs, DVDs--even cruises, for dog's sake. Eventually, i traced them all down to the Messrs Arntz and Wolf, but especially, Wiliam Tiller. It's really pathetic, but what is worse, is that it likely draws and convinces a large audience.

Edit: It was Mr. Tiller who had all the webpages which wanted to sell you things.

again, i say even the most knowledge people in the world about the human brain have no idea how much of it we use since they can't even understand some of the functions of it (ie-dimensia-sp?- no one is really sure what causes it or how it happens...alzhiemer's-sp?-either and these are deteriorations of the brain).

argue all you want, there is no answer. sorry Sad

Factually I understand the answer completely.

I would try to explain it to you, but you wouldn't be able to understand since you only use 10% of your brain.

dang it, and i thought i had graduated to 11%...
